Prospective Undergraduate Students
My lab is very competitive to get into at the undergraduate level. Because of this, entry is selective, and seats are restricted by the projects running and the total number of students in the lab.
If you are interested in doing research in my lab, please fill out the form below. Once you are finished, please email me (ssawyer@newhaven.edu) so I am aware that there is a new application to review. Please specify what research project(s) you are interested in working on in the appropriate box. There may be space in one of the projects you are interested in and not the other.
Some of these questions are to learn a little bit about you, not to judge if you are qualified in the lab. Don't overthink it.
Prospective Graduate Students
If you would like to work in my lab as a grad student, please reach out to me directly (ssawyer@newhaven.edu).
In the Forensic Science Department at the University of New Haven, Master's students are paired up with advisors in their first semester through an interview process. There is no guarantee in getting any one specific professor unless the student and the professor rank each other high (why it is important to reach out to me).
I can currently only do research with graduate students in the MS Forensic Science Degree (not to be confused with the MS Tech program).
If you are interested in the program, you can see details here:

I am unable to take PhD students at this time.
